This page describes how to register material for the following two scenarios:

  1. If you have completed any physical processing on the material, such as shredding, baling, washing etc.

  2. If you have physically sorted your material into different fractions than what they were registered as incoming in the first place. For example, you first registered 1000 kg of "Mixed Litter" and then sorted the material into 500 kg PET, 200 kg HDPE, and 300 kg LDPE

It's important to record processing steps for accurate data representations of the material properties of your physical materials.

The steps below describe how to register processing of your material in Empower Tracking.

1. Click on "Process" in the upper menu

2. Select the material from your inventory that you are processing (Inputs)

The material that is going into your processing from your inventory is called inputs. Note that multiple inputs can be selected. Set the amount(s) [kg] of material going into the process of the total available. Then click "NEXT, SET OUTPUT".

3. Select the characteristics of the finished processed material (Outputs)

The material coming out of the process is called output. Include the details of the output by using the dropdown selections. Note that output is pre-filled with values from the input, but you can change all the values. In the example below, "Shredded/flakes" and "Hot washed" were added to describe the material after processing.

4. Include the weight of the output coming out of the process

Note that the difference in weight of input(s) and output(s) is registered as production loss (if input > output) or balance increase (if input < output).

5. You can add multiple outputs by clicking "Add output"

6. At any time, you can review the details you have included so far by clicking "View details"

7. The details view shows the inputs, outputs, and potential production loss

8. Once all inputs and outputs are added, click "Next"

9. Review the details

Ensure that the inputs and outputs are correct, also ensure that the location and date are correct. You can also add files, such as pictures or other documentation.

10. Confirm the processing data

Confirm by clicking "confirm", and then "Done, back to home page" if you are done processing for now.

As Empower Tracking is not an app you download from App Store or Google Play, we strongly encourage you to instead save it to the home screen of your smartphone as soon as possible, if you haven't already. This will make it appear like a normal app. See how here.
