This article describes the steps to create a product passport. Please note that this functionality is only available for customers with Product/Material Passport activated.

Reach out to your account manager or contact [email protected] for more information.

Creating passport

In Empower Platform, click "Product Passport" from the top menu, and then choose "Create" to start working on a new passport.

Tip: If you've previously created other passports, they are listed in the main passport view. If you want to see details of existing passports instead, click "View details".

Filling in details of the Passport

Please note that some fields are mandatory to fill out in order to create and save the passport. Also, be aware that there isn't a draft of the data you imputed until you click on "Create", in case you have to leave the page, all the information you might have added will disappear. Therefore, we suggest, that as soon as the mandatory fields are done, you should click on "Create" to be sure you saved everything.

Step 1: Product details

Add relevant product information, such as images, product name, website, and product description. Mandatory field: Product name
TIP: You can see what the different fields look like in this example.

Step 2: Materials

Fill out the materials used in this product that you want to appear.

Step 3: Stories

This section enables you to add one or several blocks with text and images/videos in your product passport and is highly recommended to bring forward the true impact of your product. Add several Story-sections (by clicking "Add new story").

Step 4: Product information badges

You can add product information badges, such as links to product brochures, environmental product data sheets, etc. If you are unsure of what image to upload, we recommend using image icons illustrating the type of file (see for instance flaticon.com).

Note: Empower is not responsible for content on external websites.

Step 5: Specify the number of passports (note: mandatory field)

Tip: you are able to change the number of passports later until you connect digital twin(s) to the passport, after this, will be locked.

Step 6: Social Media links

Add any social media links relevant to your products.

Step 7: Scroll to the top again, and click "Create"

Tip: If the create icon is still grey, it means that some mandatory fields are not filled out. Please review the steps and ensure you have not started on any fields that are not completely filled out. If you have any questions, please use the support chatbot in the help center (bottom right).
