In this article, you will see how to edit and revert registrations done in Empower Tracking. As data integrity is key to the Empower Platform, not all transactions can be edited or reverted.
Editing a transaction means editing one or several of the data points. Reverting a transaction means doing a deletion of an entire transaction. The deletion action will remain visible in the history.
Edit and reverts can only be done in certain cases, as the blockchain technology built into the platform ensures some data is immutable. This means you can edit/revert;
materials manually registered as unconfirmed reception (Alt. 3 here), and that have not been processed, delivered out or been sent for plastic credit approval
materials manually registered as unconfirmed delivery (Alt. 3 here)
materials processed but not delivered (revert only)
See the steps below on how to edit and revert transactions following the rules above.
1. Click on "Tracking history" in the left-side menu
2. Each transaction can be viewed, edited, or reverted
This article describes more about viewing and interpreting data with the "View" button, while the next steps here will focus on "Edit" and "Revert".
3. First, to edit details of a transaction, click the "Edit" button
Again, the "Edit" button will only be available for registrations where you are allowed to do changes to the details following the rules described above.
4. For transactions that are editable, all fields can be edited with the "CHANGE" buttons
6. In the Tracking History overview, the "Revert" button allows you to revert a transaction
Reverting a transaction means deleting the previous action, but keeping a record of the step in the history for data integrity purposes. Again, the "Revert" button will only be available for registrations where you are allowed to revert the transaction following the rules described above.
7. Carefully read the instructions for reverting a transaction. If agreed, click "Yes, revert it"
8. Notice the changes
After completing a reversion, notice the changes in the Tracking History. In this example, an outgoing delivery was reverted, which made the volume return to the internal facility.
